New York – Paul Hastings, a leading global law firm, announced today that two firm partners, Jennifer Yount and Melanie Rupert, have been shortlisted as Lawyers of the Year alongside other highly-regarded lawyers and firms for the 2022 Euromoney Women in Business Law Americas awards. The individual awards recognize the achievements of leading female lawyers in a variety of practice areas.

Jennifer, shortlisted for Banking & Finance Lawyer of the Year, is the co-chair of the Paul Hastings Global Finance practice, where she leads a global team of finance and restructuring lawyers. Her experience focuses on private credit, specialty lenders, and banks in cross-border and U.S.-focused transactions, including acquisition financings, cash-flow, asset-based lending, distressed credit, special situations and restructurings.

Melanie, shortlisted for Life Sciences Lawyer of the Year, is a partner in Paul Hastings’ Life Sciences IP group, where her practice focuses on biotechnology and pharmaceutical litigation. She has more than two decades of experience in the life sciences space, including significant experience leading Hatch-Waxman cases on behalf of innovator drug companies. In addition, Melanie guides clients on strategic matters related to patent portfolio development and management, pre-suit analysis, post-grant review challenges, and ex-U.S. opposition proceedings. Melanie also serves as the global co-chair of talent development at Paul Hastings and as an adjunct professor at New York University School of Law.

All winners will be announced at an event in New York City on June 9, 2022.
