Paul Hastings Team Named American Lawyer ‘Litigator of the Week’ Runner-Up for Antitrust Win in Travel Software Merger
September 04, 2025
A Paul Hastings Antitrust and Competition team earned runner-up in The American Lawyer’s “Litigator of the Week” recognitions for securing a victory for CWT, the third-largest business travel management company in the world, after the Department of Justice dropped its antitrust lawsuit seeking to block a merger between CWT and Amex Global Business Travel worth $570 million. With a trial in the matter set for September before U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of New York Jed Rakoff, the government abruptly dismissed the case last month. The firm also represented CWT in the underlying merger, which was officially completed on Sept. 2, 2025.
Antitrust and Competition co-chair Mike Murray led the Paul Hastings team, which also included partners Craig Lee and Ryan Phair.
