Ronak D. Desai and Ferish Patel Named to the IBLJ’s International A-List

April 15, 2026

The India Business Law Journal has named Investigations & White Collar Defense partner Ronak D. Desai and Private Equity partner Ferish Patel to its 2026 International A-List of its most-recommended India-focused lawyers at international law firms” based on the “collective views of private practice lawyers in India and in-house counsel around the world.”

The A-List recognizes international counsel “who are helping shape the legal frameworks of India’s global expansion” and “setting the standards by which India-related work is done worldwide.” They are the attorneys that Indian general counsel and law firms “call to untangle multi-jurisdictional disputes, navigate unfamiliar regulatory environments, or close high-stakes deals on tight schedules.”

Ronak, the firmwide leader of Paul Hastings’ India practice, is based in the firm’s Washington D.C. and Los Angeles offices. He was profiled and recognized for his work on regulatory matters and cross-border disputes. The IBLJ highlighted clients who hailed Ronak as among “a very small group of international lawyers who combine elite legal capability with genuine, earned fluency in India’s legal, institutional and policy landscape.”

Ferish, based in the firm’s flagship London office, was recognized for his practice and extensive track record in the deal market. Citing an Indian law firm that has worked closely with him, the IBLJ characterized Ferish as “an outright leader in the VC and growth equity space and a dominant force in the secondaries space.”

“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by the India Business Law Journal,” Ronak said. “We are deeply humbled by the trust and confidence our clients have reposed not just in me and Ferish, but in the entire firm and its countless India practitioners, to handle their most sensitive matters. The India growth story is an extraordinary one and the country’s moment has arrived. India will continue to be a central focus of the firm’s efforts and attention in the years ahead. We look forward to partnering with our clients as they continue navigating this exciting market.”

Paul Hastings does not practice law in India consistent with governing Indian law, but we enjoy a broad spectrum of relationships with local Indian law firms, which enable us to meet all our clients’ needs.
