By Suzanne Horne

This is the third in a series of videos that recaps key developments in employment law during 2015 and forecasts trends for the year ahead.

provides her perspective on the major developments and legislation changes related to workplace data protection issues during the past year – and the key takeaways for EU employers to keep in mind in 2016. These include:

  • The continuing debate on data privacy following the Schrems Decision on Safe Harbor

  • The increasing use of subject access requests by claimants in employment litigation

  • A new form of tort claim in the UK workplace

  • The rise in group employee data breach claims

Please note that since this video was recorded, the EU Commission, Parliament, and Council of Ministers reached agreement on the General Data Protection Regulation. The official text will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union in early 2016 and employers will have two years to comply.
