London – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global finance firm, has advised Eircom Limited (Eir), Ireland’s leading fixed broadband provider, on a new partnership with InfraVia Capital Partners (InfraVia) to create a dedicated fibre company focused on the deployment of fibre-to-the-home (“FTTH”) across the Republic of Ireland. The FTTH network will provide ultrafast speeds across Ireland, accelerating the country’s digital transformation. InfraVia will acquire a 49.99% interest in the entity, with Eir retaining the remaining 50.01%.

InfraVia will work collaboratively with Eir as a capital partner to accelerate their high-quality existing infrastructure base, creating a network with an open access model that provides an ultrafast service to all retail broadband operators in Ireland via Open Eir Networks.

This transaction is the latest in a series of major telecoms deals on which the Paul Hastings team has advised across Europe over the last year, including Eir’s sale of Emerald Tower Limited, which owns a portfolio of 815 telecoms towers in Ireland to Phoenix Tower International for €300 million, Providence Equity Partners investment in Marlink of approximately $1.4 billion, Hanwha Systems investment of $300 million in OneWeb, Salt Mobile on its sale of a 10% stake in Swiss Infra Services to Cellnex, and Monaco Telecom’s sale of a portfolio of 815 telecoms towers in Malta and Cyprus to Phoenix Tower International.
