
Overview
Adam Reich is of counsel in the Litigation Department of Paul Hastings. An in-demand complex litigator and business advisor, Adam has a broad practice, which includes biometric and other data privacy matters, antitrust litigation, entertainment and media litigation, contract and tort-based business disputes, consumer class action litigation, civil RICO claims and providing counsel to private equity funds and their portfolio companies in a variety of litigation and litigation-adjacent contexts.
Principally based in Paul Hastings’ Chicago office, Adam regularly litigates disputes around the country, including in California, where he spent nearly a decade practicing in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Adam has been a member of Paul Hastings’ Complex Litigation and Trial practice since he began his legal career with the firm in 2010. He is also a member of Paul Hastings’ Privacy and Cybersecurity Group, Antitrust Group, and Entertainment and Media Litigation Group.
Adam has vast experience representing clients in matters involving business litigation, trial and arbitration across a wide swath of industries, including beauty and cosmetics, medical device, entertainment, social media, food and consumer packaged goods, apparel, pharmacy services, real estate and construction, energy, sports, investment and consumer electronics. Adam’s litigation experience spans the gamut, from pre-suit discussions to drafting and challenging pleadings, conducting and defending discovery, and trial and alternative dispute resolution.
In addition to litigation assistance, Adam advises clients regarding compliance matters, particularly with respect to privacy laws, contract drafting and interpretation, subpoena response and strategy, and internal investigations. Adam has also provided strategic counsel to clients regarding data breaches and related contractual obligations, as well as best practices for mitigating cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
Adam is admitted to the state bars of California, Illinois, New York and the District of Columbia. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh and Ninth Circuits, the United States District Courts for the Central, Southern and Northern Districts of California, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois.

- Multiple private equity firms and their portfolio companies in connection with various business disputes, including disputes regarding earnout provisions, indemnification, net operating loss carryback rights, sales contracts and trade secrets.

Secured summary judgment in multiple high-profile class actions alleging monopolization of multiple product markets through the use of alleged refusals to deal, discount programs, and bundling of goods and services. This important victory resulted in recognition of Adam by The American Lawyer as a “runner up” for “Litigator of the Week.”
