Overview

Bret E. Strzelczyk (“Strel-check”) is an associate in the Energy & Infrastructure practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Chicago office. He focuses on representing bank lenders, insurance companies, pension funds, asset managers and other institutional investors in connection with project development and finance, private placement offerings and other corporate transactions in the renewable energy, battery storage, natural gas and infrastructure sectors. He has also advised project sponsors on debt and tax equity financings.

  • Energy-transition-focused investment manager in connection with a $440 million tax equity investment and material restructuring of existing debt financing to support the development and construction of a 674 MWdc / 500 MWac utility-scale solar farm located in Genesee County, New York.
  • Institutional investors in a $362 million senior secured financing in connection with the construction of twenty solar photovoltaic projects in California, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
  • Institutional investors in connection with the successful bid process to provide financing for a private equity sponsor’s OpCo/HoldCo acquisition of natural gas assets in the Southeast United States totaling $1.2 billion.
