Philip Povey is an associate in the Restructuring and Finance practice at Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s London office. His practice focuses on complex cross-border corporate / financial restructurings, special situations and formal insolvency procedures.
Mr. Povey works for a variety of restructuring stakeholders, with a particular emphasis on major financial institutions, distressed debt funds, alternative credit providers and insolvency practitioners. He has been involved in a wide range of distressed matters, advising on debt restructurings and refinancing work, cram-down strategies (including consideration of schemes of arrangement and CVAs as part of the workout process) and contingency planning / enforcement processes. His experience also includes restructurings or public bond debt.
Before joining Paul Hastings, Mr. Povey was an associate in the Business Restructuring and Insolvency practice of a large international firm in London. While there, he also spent time on secondment in Johannesburg, gaining an understanding of finance and restructuring matters more generally across Africa.
