Overview
Farida Shawkat is an associate in the Litigation Department of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's New York office. Ms. Shawkat's practice focuses on complex litigation with an emphasis on intellectual property matters in the field of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
Ms. Shawkat received her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2023, graduating cum laude and with a concentration in Health Law. While in law school, Ms. Shawkat was an Executive Board Member of Seton Hall Law's Health Law Forum as well as the Appellate Advocacy Board. She was also an active member of the law school's Intellectual Property Association and Muslim Law Students Association. Ms. Shawkat earned a B.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rutgers University in 2020. She is an active member of the Muslim Bar Association of New York.
