Overview

Hernan Chiriboga is an International Associate in the International Arbitration practice of global law firm Paul Hastings.

Based in Washington, DC, Mr. Chiriboga is a civil and common law-trained lawyer who advises clients on multinational and multilingual disputes.  He has participated in commercial and investment arbitrations under arbitration rules such as the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the Arbitration Rules of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

He has experience across a range of sectors such as construction, energy, infrastructure, mining, oil and gas, and renewables.  He has particular experience in complex damages and a range of economic and financial issues based on his experience in economic consulting and international arbitration proceedings and hearings.

Mr. Chiriboga holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business and Economic Law from Georgetown University Law Center, a law degree from Universidad San Francisco de Quito (Ecuador), and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the George Washington University. Additionally, he holds a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the American University Washington College of Law, an International Arbitration & Dispute Resolution Certificate from Georgetown University, and a Certificate in Mergers and Acquisitions from the Columbia Business School.  He is licensed to practice law in New York and Ecuador and is a Special Legal Consultant in Washington, D.C.
