Overview

Jean-Louis Martin is a Partner in the Real Estate practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Paris office.

Mr. Martin specializes in real estate transactions. He has extensive experience with real estate investments, with particular focus on acquisitions and sales of assets, portfolios, and property companies, as well as with joint ventures, or the formation or implementation of complex contractual agreements between investors and real estate operators.

Mr. Martin assists his clients with transactions and development projects involving commercial and logistics real estate assets or shopping centers. He also regularly advises investors on their real estate bank financing needs.

Mr. Martin also advises international real estate investment funds, institutional investors, sovereign funds, developers, and industrial groups in the field of commercial leases, sale & leaseback agreements, construction operations, and development of new operating sites or headquarters.

In addition, Mr. Martin practices in sports law, where he has over twenty years of experience. He has acted on major international sports events organized in France or abroad and regularly advises event organizers or professional sports actors.

In particular, Mr. Martin is involved in negotiating marketing contracts with official partners of sporting institution events or competitions and is recognized as a specialist in organizing public tenders and selling television sports broadcasting rights.

Mr. Martin is President of the Legal Committee of the French professional Rugby League. He is a member of the Paris Bar and is fluent in French and English.

Education

Mr. Martin graduated from the University of Dijon (Master’s degree in Business Law), from the University of Montpellier (DJCE-DESS), and from Columbia University (LL.M.).
