
Overview
Jerri Shick is the global pro bono counsel at Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's New York office. She oversees the pro bono program across all Paul Hastings offices. In this role, Jerri fosters relationships with local, national and international public interest organizations to collaborate on pro bono matters, including oversight of pro bono projects.
Jerri also helps advance new pro bono initiatives with legal services organizations, facilitating pro bono participation across the firm. She helps firm lawyers develop pro bono practices that build their skills and complement their commercial practices. Jerri also manages pro bono collaborations with the firm's corporate clients. She designs systems to process, track and manage pro bono matters and addresses risk management issues with respect to the pro bono program.
Jerri frequently presents at leading pro bono conferences and national training programs. In 2018, she was awarded the Public Interest Law Leadership Award by The Legal Aid Society. She was also honored by the New York Law Journal as a "Lawyer Who Leads By Example" for Pro Bono in 2014. Jerri was also recognized as the 2010 Volunteer Attorney of the Year by Bet Tzedek Legal Services for managing the Holocaust Survivors Justice Network in New York.
Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Jerri co-managed the pro bono program at another leading international law firm for more than 20 years. She also has experience working on white-collar enforcement matters, securities class actions and shareholder derivative litigations, where she represented individuals and companies in various regulatory enforcement matters and corporate internal investigations.
