Overview

Maksim Mints is an associate in the Litigation Department and Intellectual Property practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Maksim has a technical background in computer engineering and holds an M.S. and B.S. in computer engineering from the University of Massachusetts. He represents clients in intellectual property disputes, with a focus on patent litigation and proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and the District Courts. He is admitted in the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He received his J.D. from the Evening Division of Suffolk University Law School while working as a patent agent for a multinational law firm.

Maksim maintains an active pro bono practice and serves on the Legal Advisory Committee of the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights. He also writes and speaks on developments involving the PTAB, the Federal Circuit and the International Trade Commission.

Maksim previously served as a judicial law clerk at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board for Lead Administrative Patent Judge Robert Kinder, Administrative Patent Judges Juliet Dirba and Avelyn Ross, and under Kathi Vidal, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, from 2023 to 2024.
