Overview

Paul C. Gross is of counsel in the Litigation Department of Paul Hastings. He is based in the firm’s New York office. Paul’s practice focuses on high stakes, complex commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on trial work. Paul regularly takes lead roles at trial (and in final arbitration hearings) and has successfully tried eight- and nine-figure cases to verdict in the Southern District of New York, the New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division and multiple arbitral forums.

Beyond his work at trial, Paul has deep experience representing clients across industries (banking, private equity, automotive, renewable energy, medical supplies and others) in their most challenging and significant disputes — from pre-litigation negotiation all the way through appeal. Regardless of the client or phase of the case, Paul is a tenacious and thoughtful litigator who always strives to find creative and efficient paths to obtain the best possible result for his clients.

Finally, in addition to his civil practice, Paul has significant experience representing individual criminal defendants facing federal charges. For example, he served as the lead senior associate on the team that represented former Sen. Robert Menendez in his headline-grabbing 10-week jury trial. Paul has also represented criminal defendants facing charges alleging insider trading, violations of the Bank Secrecy Act and theft of trade secrets.

Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Paul worked as a litigation associate at two other major international law firms. He graduated with a J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2017.
