Sam Pickett

Associate, Litigation Department


Sam Pickett is an associate in the Litigation practice and is based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. His areas of focus include international trade law, national security regulation, and white collar investigations.

Mr. Pickett has advised multinational clients on a wide range of global trade controls and additional regulatory issues. Mr. Pickett has counseled domestic and foreign companies on the impact of economic sanctions issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control ("OFAC") on Iran, Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, and other countries. He has also advised on compliance with export controls administered by the Bureau of Industry and Security ("BIS"). Mr. Pickett also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on immigration issues and has experience with special immigrant juvenile matters.

Mr. Pickett received his law degree in 2021 from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the Virginia Tax Review. Mr. Pickett earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Spanish from Indiana University, summa cum laude, in 2018. Mr. Pickett is admitted to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
