Overview

Jeremy Gonzalez is an associate in the Complex Litigation and Arbitration practice and is based in the firm’s Dallas office. He represents businesses and individuals in a wide range of litigation and investigation matters. His practice focuses on complex business disputes and litigation in both state and federal courts, government investigations, and bankruptcy-related litigation. In addition, Jeremy assists clients with internal investigations and advises on various compliance matters.

Jeremy has particular experience representing financial institutions, private equity firms, corporations, and their directors and officers who are facing threatened or actual litigation from shareholders or competitors. He frequently advises and defends current and former directors and officers facing lawsuits alleging fiduciary duty breaches and violations of other federal and state laws.

  • (Del. Ch.) – Public pharmaceutical company and its directors and officers in lawsuit alleging breach of fiduciary duty
  • (Tex. Dist. – Dallas Cnty.) — Privately held group of companies in connection with an internal investigation and prosecuted a civil lawsuit seeking recovery of $47 million in an embezzlement fraud
  • (Tex. Dist. – Fort Bend Cnty.) – Bank in lender liability lawsuit stemming from embezzlement by bank customer’s employee, and obtained favorable agreement to dismiss lawsuit
  • (Tex. Dist. – Bexar Cnty.) – National law firm in professional liability lawsuit filed by physician and affiliated companies, and obtained favorable agreement to dismiss lawsuit
  • (Bankr. S.D. Tex.) – Energy company in an in-court sale process in which substantially all of the company’s operating assets were sold as part of its Chapter 11 cases involving approximately $400 million in total liabilities
  • (Bankr. N.D. Tex.) – Energy company and its subsidiaries in a chapter 11 sale process in which substantially all of the company’s operating assets were sold pursuant to a prepackaged Chapter 11 plan
