Overview

Nathan Brownback is of counsel in the Corporate Department of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. His practice focuses on regulation and supervision of U.S. and foreign banks as well as other financial services entities in the United States.

Nathan has a broad-based banking and financial services practice at both the state and federal levels, ranging from chartering and licensing decisions and processes with both federal and state regulators, to ongoing compliance with regulatory and supervisory requirements, to issues relating to winding down and resolving financial institutions. He also has expertise on bank regulatory issues as they arise in the transactional and litigation contexts. He has advised complex global banks, regional and community banks, and state-licensed fintech businesses, both blockchain-based and traditional.
