Overview
Peter Kuri is an associate in the Corporate department and is based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He advises clients on a wide range of transactional, compliance, and enforcement matters relating to banking and financial services regulation.
Peter frequently represents banking organizations and non-bank financial institutions, as well as their investors and counterparties, in connection with mergers & acquisitions, minority investments, capital raises, and partnership agreements. In addition, he guides clients through regulatory requirements and approvals to establish or expand their financial services activities, often helping clients obtain de novo charters and licenses. He also routinely counsels banking organizations and systemically important financial institutions on corporate governance obligations and operational restrictions, such as those pertaining to prudential standards, permissible activities, and resolution planning.
Furthermore, Peter advises clients on associated regulatory issues that impact banking and financial services, including anti-money laundering, economic sanctions, foreign investment reviews, data privacy, cybersecurity, and ESG.
