Overview

Sam Finn is an associate in the Complex Litigation and Arbitration practice at Paul Hastings' New York office. His practice is focused on all aspects of commercial litigation and arbitration.

Sam received his law degree from the George Washington University Law School in 2022, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif and the George Washington Law Review and served as a research assistant for the James F. Humphries Complex Litigation Center. During law school, Sam interned for Magistrate Judge Robin M. Meriweather of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the National Student Legal Defense Network, the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and a national commercial law firm. He also served and represented clients before administrative judges as a student attorney with the Public Justice Advocacy Clinic.

After receiving his law degree, Sam clerked for the Honorable Judge Carlos F. Lucero on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit before beginning his career at a premier New York City litigation boutique.

Representations

  • Various affiliates of Chubb in nationwide litigation with manufacturers and distributors of opioids, and national pharmacy chains that sold opioids, over insurance coverage for over 3,000 lawsuits brought by governmental entities across the country.
  • Visa in multi-district class action antitrust litigation filed on behalf of merchants, as well as in opt-out cases brought by the world’s largest retailers, relating to network rules at the heart of the Visa system.
  • Several federal grantees in federal litigation relating to alterations in federal grantmaking procedure in light of executive orders.

Matters may have been handled prior to joining Paul Hastings.
