Kmart in the defense of the first “suitable seats” class action to proceed to trial.

OpenAI, Google, and Bayer AG in general employment and labor advice and counseling.

Activision Blizzard in overlapping regulatory lawsuits and investigations (EEOC, CRD) involving highly publicized gender harassment and pay equity claims. Secured favorable resolutions for client. Also assisted with client representation during SEC ESG Task Force investigation and related derivative actions.

Levi Strauss & Co. against a federal lawsuit involving pregnancy and gender discrimination claims arising from the plaintiff’s alleged denial of a promotion. The team secured early dismissal of all claims against individual managers and, in August 2024, won summary judgment on most of the remaining claims. Following a jury trial in April 2025 on the remaining FEHA and Title VII failure-to-promote claims, the jury returned a full defense verdict for Levi Strauss after fewer than 20 minutes of deliberation.

Nike in a putative class action in the District of Oregon alleging gender-based pay disparities and discriminatory promotion practices. Following years of litigation, the court denied the plaintiffs’ motion for class certification in 2023, finding that the claims did not satisfy the requirements for class treatment. The court specifically cited declarations from putative class members describing varied experiences at Nike as evidence of a lack of commonality.

UPS in a wage and hour class action alleging misclassification and meal break violations with significant potential liability. The Paul Hastings team convinced the court on the eve of trial to decertify the class and continued to represent the company in multiple trials for the individual cases. After eight years of litigation, the firm obtained 16 wins and 38 walkaways, recovering defense fees in several cases.
