Overview

Thomas Jordan is an associate in the Investigations & White Collar Defense practice at Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Washington, D.C. office. Thomas’ areas of focus include white collar criminal defense, internal corporate investigations and compliance with government enforcement actions. Thomas provides regulatory and compliance advice on internal investigations and regulatory enforcement by the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of the Treasury, as well as from regulators in the United Kingdom and Europe. Thomas has advised clients on responding to allegations of violations of U.S. and EU sanctions and anti-corruption/anti-bribery regulations, including primarily the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and has participated in and led corporate investigations in countries throughout Central and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa.

Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Thomas was on active duty for 20 years in the United States Marine Corps, where he served at Intelligence Department, Headquarters Marine Corps; as a Russian Military Language Instructor at the Defense Language Institute; and as a Russian interpreter and inspector with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, participating in nuclear arms control inspections throughout Russia and posting for two months as agency liaison to the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan. His background in the Russian language and the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia formerly part of the Soviet Union has provided him advanced insight into compliance risks and challenges to investigations in the region.

Thomas received his law degree in 2017 from Georgetown University Law Center. He is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and Maryland.
