Honoring September 11 Through Service and Community Impact

Each September, Paul Hastings team members come together to honor the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance through the firm’s annual partnership with 9/11 Day.

This year, Team Paul Hastings in the Community volunteered across 12 U.S. cities, joining volunteers nationwide in meal-packing events to support communities facing food insecurity. Across participating locations, volunteers packed more than 18 million meals.

The annual initiative also takes place during September Hunger Action Month and reflects an important focus of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility program: addressing food insecurity in the communities where our people live and work.

“Serving together on this day each year allows us not only to support one of our nonprofit partners and its mission, but also to come together as colleagues in service to our communities,” said Lauren Brooten, head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Paul Hastings. “Addressing food insecurity is an important part of our Corporate Social Responsibility program, and this annual volunteer event gives our people a meaningful way to honor September 11 through service.”

The Firm’s work to address food insecurity extends throughout the year. Paul Hastings supports nonprofit partners through charitable contributions, employee fundraising, volunteer service and collection drives, including engagement with Feeding America-affiliated food banks in communities across the United States.

Paul Hastings employees also contribute their time and expertise through nonprofit board service, fundraising initiatives and other forms of community engagement. Together, these efforts reflect the firm’s approach to corporate social responsibility, combining financial support with opportunities for employees to engage directly with nonprofit partners and the communities they serve.
