London – Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, has advised pan-European private equity firm, Oakley Capital, on its acquisition of legal information platform, vLex, from its founders and Caixa Capital Risc. The founders of vLex have reinvested alongside Oakley Capital, which will now be the majority shareholder.

Founded in 2000, vLex was designed to make legal research more accessible and efficient for legal professionals around the world. Today, the platform is used by around 7,000 law firms and legal departments in over 100 countries, with significant operations in Europe, the US and Latin America.

This is the latest platform transaction on which Paul Hastings has acted for Oakley Capital in 2022, following the recent $6.8 Billion Merger of Grupo Primavera with Cegid Group earlier this year.

The Paul Hastings team included London-based Private Equity partners Anu Balasubramanian and Jamie Holdoway, Tax partner Arun Birla, and associates Raphaella Gabrasadig, Catherine Kennedy, Ludovico Giannotti, Ben Regan, and Jee-Yoon Chung.

Pérez-Llorca also advised Oakley Capital on Spanish law, while Uria Menendez represented the vLex founders and Caixa Capital Risc.
