Paul Hastings Secures Victory in False Claims Act Case in Central District of California

Paul Hastings LLP secured a victory for former affiliates of the Los Angeles Film School in the Central District of California on March 9, 2026, when the court dismissed the action for failure to allege violations of the False Claims Act.
On June 20, 2024, the Relators, former employees of the Los Angeles Film School, brought qui tam claims against the school and various affiliated individuals, accusing them of violating the False Claims Act based on their alleged involvement with the college. The Paul Hastings team argued that the allegations were deficient, and the court granted their motion to dismiss the Relators’ amended complaint.
