Paul Hastings LLP received three awards at the IFLR Americas Awards 2023. The firm was recognized in the following categories:

M&A Deal of the Year: Moove / PetroChoice

Paul Hastings advised Moove, a leading global producer and distributor of lubricants and base oils, in its acquisition of PetroChoice Lubrication Solutions from Golden Gate Capital for US$479 million. Moove is a subsidiary of Cosan S.A., one of Brazil’s largest business groups, with investments in energy and logistics. The transaction was led by Paul Hastings’ São Paulo office, including partner Jon Kellner, Of Counsel Filipe Lima, and associate Thomas Ayres.

Restructuring Deal of the Year: LATAM Airlines Group

Paul Hastings advised Banco del Estado de Chile in its capacity as indenture trustee under the Chilean Local Bonds Series A through D and Series E issued by LATAM Airlines Group S.A. in the aggregate amount of $490.5 million, which was led by partner Pedro Jimenez. In addition, another financial restructuring team at Paul Hastings, led by partner Dan Fliman, represented an ad hoc group of holders of claims against TAM Linhas Aereas S.A., which is the largest passenger entity of LATAM Airlines, who opposed the Debtors’ proposed plan of reorganization on the basis that it wrongly denied the group’s contractually mandated post-petition interest.
