Overview

André J. Washington is an associate in the Asset-Backed Finance practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm’s Chicago office. His practice focuses on advising issuers, asset managers, underwriters, lenders and investors in all aspects of Asset-Backed Finance (ABF), structured finance and similar commercial transactions, including both capital markets (144A/Reg S) and private (4(a)(2)) offerings of asset-backed securities.

André has experience assisting in the acquisition, sale and financing of a wide range of financial asset types, including unsecured personal loans, credit card receivables, trade receivables, auto loans and shipping container leases.

André previously served as a judicial law clerk in the United States District Court for the Western District of New York in Rochester, NY. He earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 2019, where he was a member of the Chicago Journal of International Law and published a note on the topic of international trade law. André holds a bachelor’s degree in music performance from the Eastman School of Music and an Artist Diploma in chamber music performance from the École Normale de Musique de Paris (France), where he was a Fulbright Fellow.
