Christine Matott is of counsel in the Corporate department of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Chicago office. Her practice focuses on the fiduciary aspects (Title I) of ERISA. Ms. Matott represents a wide variety of investment vehicles, including real estate funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, collective investment trusts, and infrastructure funds related to fund structuring and formation, including, but not limited to, issues relating to “venture capital operating companies,” “real estate operating companies,” and other exceptions issued under the plan asset regulations. She advises pension plan investors, investment managers, plan sponsors, and recordkeepers on general ERISA compliance matters, including fiduciary duties under ERISA, prohibited transactions, and fee structuring. Ms. Matott also advises clients with respect to ERISA matters in structured finance transactions.
