Heena Merchant is an associate in the Corporate practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's San Francisco office. Her practice is focused on financial services and payment systems. Ms. Merchant has experience in representing bank and non-bank financial institutions, financial services and financial technology companies, payment networks, and investment firms in various payment system issues, both on the transactional and the regulatory side. She focuses her practice on advising clients on issues related to electronic payments, mobile payments, virtual currencies, prepaid access, state and federal money transmission laws, state and federal gift card laws, the federal Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation E, and other state and federal laws related to the provision of payments.
Ms. Merchant received her J.D. from Cornell University in 2012 and her B.A. in Psychology and Political Science from Vanderbilt University, cum laude, in 2008.
