William ("Bill") McCue is an associate in the Tax practice of Paul Hastings’ Washington, D.C. office and is a member of the Global Compensation, Benefits, and ERISA practice.

A substantial portion of Bill’s practice is devoted to advising clients on executive compensation, employment, and employee benefits matters in connection with domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other business transactions by conducting due diligence and negotiating and preparing contract provisions addressing transitional issues.

In the executive compensation area of his practice, Mr. McCue prepares employment agreements and retention, severance, and change in control arrangements.

In the employment area of his practice, Mr. McCue reviews and advises on wage and hour policies, including overtime and contractor classification policies, and advises clients on the WARN Act, state WARN Act analogs, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and other related issues.

In the tax-qualified retirement plan area, Mr. McCue has prepared plan amendments, IRS determination letter applications, Voluntary Correction Program applications, and Form 5330 filings.

Finally, in the welfare benefits plan area of his practice, Mr. McCue advises clients on Affordable Care Act compliance for health plans.
