Fritz Eggen is an associate in the Corporate practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's Houston office. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, energy, private equity, and finance. Mr. Eggen has significant experience advising private equity sponsors, commercial lenders, and oil and gas companies in a broad range of corporate matters including mergers and acquisitions, financing and private placements, and corporate restructurings. He has also worked extensively with exploration and production companies and oil field service providers in a range of domestic production regions.

Recent Representations

  • Represented a private equity sponsor of an independent oil and gas exploration and production company in an out-of-court restructuring plan involving a note exchange and capital contribution of approximately $375 million.

  • Successfully represented an oil pipeline transportation company in the acquisition of a pipeline and gathering system located in West Texas valued at approximately $300 million.

  • Represented a multinational conglomerate in the sale of an interest in a joint venture manufacturing facility for approximately $815 million.

  • Represented a stalking horse bidder in an approximate $50 million bid for a retail chain under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

  • Advised a strategic energy investor with approximately $100 million of shale assets in a series of asset dispositions ranging across the U.S.

  • Represented an international oil field services company in securing $350 million of financing to develop a series of frac sand mines.
