Overview

Jessica Ling is a corporate partner in the Financial Restructuring group, based in the Firm’s London office.

Jessica’s practice focuses on advising secondary and par investors and companies on stressed and distressed investments, including complex cross-border restructurings and special situation transactions. In recent years she has in addition gained significant experience in advising ad hoc committees in some of the most high-value, cross-border restructurings in the market.

Jessica is recognized as a Key Lawyer for corporate restructuring & insolvency in The Legal 500 UK.

  • The secured lender to Jervois Global Limited and certain subsidiaries in respect of a global cross-border take-private transaction implemented through U.S. Chapter 11 cases and concurrent voluntary administrations and company arrangement in Australia which completed in May 2025
  • BlackRock and Stellex in relation to the restructuring of the Enzen Group, through fixed charge receivership enforcement and UK Restructuring Plans which completed in April 2025
  • An ad hoc group of bondholders on the holistic restructuring of the Nova Group, a leading salmon farming business in Chile, through a Chilean insolvency proceeding which completed in November 2024
  • A fund on its exit of a convertible loan to and rollover investment in a global pharmaceutical group
  • A creditor in the special administrations of certain entities in the Small World Financial Services Group
  • Nordic Aviation Capital: private placement noteholders in relation to a waiver and deferral arrangement implemented through an Irish scheme of arrangement, and on the restructuring of more than $6 billion of the group’s debt through a Chapter 11 plan.
  • Holders of private placement notes issued by Premier Oil plc on the $3.5 billion financial restructuring of Premier Oil, which involved a contested scheme of arrangement and subsequently the successful implementation of restructuring plans and ultimately the reverse takeover of the group.
  • Secured bondholders of Avanti, a UK-listed satellite operator, in connection with its restructuring consummated via a pre-packaged administration sale.
  • An ad hoc committee of lenders on the restructuring of a $1.3 million senior secured facility borrowed by Prosafe, the largest and most versatile fleet of semi-submersible accommodation vessels in operation worldwide.
  • The ad hoc committee of bondholders of Travelex, a foreign exchange company, in connection with the successful restructuring of the Travelex business through multiple pre-pack administration sales and injection of new money.
