Paul Hastings LLP has received two “Deal of the Year” awards at the Proximo Latin America Deals of the Year Awards 2023. The firm was recognized in the following categories:

Digital Infrastructure Deal of the Year – Aligned’s acquisition of ODATA  

Paul Hastings advised SMBC, MUFG, Deutsche Bank, Nomura, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale, Credit Agricole, and Natixis, as lenders, in a $1.225 billion term loan and delayed draw loan facility to finance Aligned Data Centers’ acquisition of ODATA, a data center service provider offering scalable, reliable, and flexible IT infrastructure in Latin America, from Patria Investments.

Renewables Deal of the Year – AES Dominicana Renewable Energy

Paul Hastings advised AES Dominicana Renewable Energy S.A. in the structured financing to support the design, construction, operation and maintenance of three greenfield non-conventional renewable energy (NCRE) projects totaling 240MWac of installed capacity (Mirasol Solar Project, Peravia I Solar Project and Peravia II Solar Project) and to refinance short-term facilities previously obtained by the borrower to build three NCRE projects (Agua Clara Wind Project, Bayasol Solar Project and Santanasol Solar Project) totaling 150MWac of installed capacity. The project is located in the Dominican Republic. Paul Hastings also advised the offtaker on Feijão and Mendubim.

The annual Deals of the Year Awards recognize the work of financial professionals and firms in the project, infrastructure, energy, and renewable finance sectors to close landmark financings.
