Overview

Aaron Reuben primarily works on environmental law, land use, and transactional matters for real estate and renewable energy projects.

Mr. Reuben helps clients navigate the California Environmental Quality Act, California Coastal Act, Clean Water Act, hazardous substance laws, local zoning laws, and the California Public Records Act. In addition to transactional and regulatory counseling, Mr. Reuben also works on litigation concerning land use and environmental issues.

In connection with mergers, acquisitions, investments, and divestitures, Mr. Reuben counsels on environmental and real estate matters.

Mr. Reuben's real estate practice includes commercial leasing, data center transactions, acquisitions and dispositions. For real estate developments, he works on construction contracts and joint venture agreements. Mr. Reuben has worked on matters across asset classes, nationally and internationally.

Education

Mr. Reuben received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2021, where he was a Business Law Scholar. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University and graduated summa cum laude. Mr. Reuben is admitted to practice law in California.

  • Advise developer in mixed use development in San Francisco
  • Advise renewable energy developer in land use, permitting and environmental review for utility-scale battery energy storage project
  • Advise insurance providers regarding environmental and permitting matters for representations and warranty insurance policies
  • Represent property owners and operators in regulatory and remediation matters
  • Advise private equity firms in connection with acquisitions and investments, including regarding PFAS and asbestos related litigation and risks
  • Advised technology company in connection with expansion into new and existing data centers in England and Sweden

Engagement & Publications

  • ​Guest Lecturer in a course in the Dollinger Masters of Real Estate Development program at Univeristy of Southern California, Price School of Public Policy. On March 25, 2024​​, Mr. Reuben lectured on environmental law considerations for real estate.
