Paul Hastings Strengthens Intellectual Property and M&A Practices with Addition of Etsuo Doi

Hong Kong (25 January, 2007) - Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker (Paul Hastings), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of a new partner, Etsuo Doi to the Tokyo office. Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Mr. Doi was a partner in Orrick's Tokyo office.

Mr. Doi has experience in global intellectual property disputes and transactions, whose practice covers on both Japanese-based, and international companies in matters relating to cross-border transactions, M&As, foreign inbound and outbound investments and general corporate finance work.

Mr. Doi has solid experience in tackling a broad range of new legal issues arising from innovative Internet business models.  He is well versed in Japanese technology law and he has been a panel speaker at numerous technology conferences.  He is one of a few Japanese private practice lawyers who has both in-house counsel and Internet venture start-up experience.

Mr. Doi is an adjunct professor of law at Temple University Law School (Japan campus) and has taught courses on the Comparative Enforcement of Intellectual Property Rights, Comparative Intellectual Property, and East-West Negotiation.

Mr Doi is a patent attorney qualified to practice law in Japan and New York.
