Sherrese Smith Named a 2020 Rainmaker by the Minority Corporate Council Association

A partner in the firm’s Media, Technology, and Telecommunications practice and Vice-Chair of the firm’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity practice, Ms. Smith was recognized for her endeavors to build comprehensively diverse legal teams with experience to take on high-visibility engagements. She was also honored for her pro bono and community efforts, playing an active, prominent role on numerous public boards and commissions – including several which help advance the interests of women and people of color. These include being a member of the American Bar Association (ABA) Forum on Media and Communications Law (FMCL); a member of the Board of Visitors for the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, which she advises on the business and technological changes underway in journalism; and serving as a Trustee of the America's Public Television Stations (APTS), a nonprofit membership organization ensuring a strong and financially sound public television system.
