Paul Hastings LLP advised vLex, a cloud-based legal information platform and portfolio company of Oakley Capital, the pan-European private equity investor, in its acquisition of Fastcase, a leading U.S. legal intelligence business.  

The new combined entity, called vLex Group, will form the world’s largest law firm subscriber base and a library with more than one billion legal documents from more than 100 countries and will reach over three million users worldwide.

The cross-border Paul Hastings team included Palo Alto and Century City Corporate partner Alex Kaufman, London partners Jamie Holdoway and Anu Balasubramanian, and Corporate associates Maggie Chou, Connor Macleod, and Anna Hardcastle. Tax advice was provided by partner Lucas Rachuba and associate Kenneth Bagdasar, and financing advice was provided by partner Adrian Chiodo, and associate Ludovico Gianotti.
