Paul Hastings Advises Direct Drive Tech on HK$1 Billion Hong Kong IPO and Global Offering

Paul Hastings (Hong Kong) LLP advised Direct Drive Tech Limited on its approximately HK$1 billion (US$138 million) global offering and listing on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (6731.HKEX) under Chapter 18C. This IPO marks the world’s first public listing of a robotics technology company defined primarily by direct-drive technology. Paul Hastings also assisted Direct Drive Tech in drafting the prospectus for its global offering and listing.

Direct Drive Tech is a robotics technology company with direct drive technology as its core capability.

Founding partner and chair of Greater China Raymond Li and partners Quan Zhou and Chongming Ma led the Paul Hastings team, which also included China associate Ru Jia, senior legal manager Kangdi Cheng, China associates Jill Zhao and Wendy Chen, China advisors Karina Zhao, Yushi Hu, Cathy Huang and Tony Liu. Director of Regulatory Affairs Wendy Hung provided support. Litigation partner Simon Hui, senior attorney Hailin Cui and associate Tashi Sun advised on international regulatory compliance matters.

Paul Hastings has advised on six significant IPOs in technology-related industries in China recently, including Crealights (optoelectronic interconnection products provider), Creality (global consumer 3D printing product and service provider), Delton (customized printed circuit boards manufacturer), MeiG Smart (wireless communication modules and solutions provider), Keytop (smart parking space operator) and the current Direct Drive Tech IPO.
