September 18, 2023
HOUSTON – Paul Hastings LLP announced today that leading complex commercial litigator Paul R. Genender has joined the firm as a partner, as well as chair of its Texas commercial litigation practice, and co-chair of the Houston office. He joins from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he was head of that firm’s Texas litigation practice.
The move advances the firm’s efforts to elevate and grow its premier litigation practice in Texas and nationally by adding another top-tier litigator capable of handling clients’ most challenging and complex disputes.
“Paul’s addition is a critical component of our strategic focus on Texas,” said firm Chair Frank Lopez. “He is an elite, highly versatile litigator and accomplished trial lawyer who immediately enhances our capabilities for premier clients across Texas and nationally. He reflects the continuing growth of our complex litigation and arbitration practice.”
Recognized by Chambers and Partners as one of the top commercial litigators in Texas, Genender represents clients in a wide range of business disputes, including breach of contract, antitrust, business fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, unfair competition, deceptive trade practices, securities fraud, misappropriation, trade secret theft, and intellectual property disputes, among others. He also provides counsel on antitrust compliance, board governance, and dispute resolution. Genender represents companies across a range of sectors, including financial services, healthcare, chemicals, real estate, energy, and telecommunications.
