Paul Hastings Boosts Private Equity and Corporate Platforms with Leading Finance Partner in New York

October 14, 2025

NEW YORK – Further strengthening its global private equity and corporate platforms, Paul Hastings LLP announced today that leading finance partner Tracey Chenoweth has joined the firm as a partner in New York.

Joining from Skadden, Chenoweth brings multifaceted experience advising clients across the capital spectrum, representing private equity firms and their portfolio companies, corporate borrowers and distressed debt investors in a variety of transactions and across a wide range of industries such as financial services, retail and manufacturing. Her work spans acquisition financings, leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations, refinancings, bridge loans and out-of-court restructurings.

“It is imperative for us to build more scale with premier finance talent like Tracey as we build our global private equity and strategic M&A platforms,” said firm Chair Frank Lopez. “Tracey’s extraordinary experience at the top of the market in complex sponsor and borrower-side leveraged finance transactions will enhance our ability to serve leading sponsor and corporate clients on their most significant matters.”

Chenoweth’s clients include Crane Company, Citadel, Crane NXT, Del Monte Pacific Limited, NCR Voyix, SDC Capital Partners and The RMR Group. Recent representations include advising Crane Company with respect to financing for its acquisition of Precision Sensors & Instrumentation and Foot Locker in its sale to DICK’S Sporting Goods, as well as providing advice in connection with the settlement of the Murdoch Family Trust dispute.

“Paul Hastings has an unparalleled global finance platform with seamlessly integrated teams across the firm that serve an exceptional roster of private equity and corporate clients,” said Chenoweth. “I am thrilled to join the firm and collaborate with the talented lawyers across its top-tier practices.”

Over the first half of 2025, Paul Hastings ranked #1 across a wide range of categories in the leading global finance league tables. The firm claimed more than 39% of the market for lead bank’s counsel for U.S. middle-market loans — nearly five times more than the second most-active firm. The finance platform continues to be ranked Band 1 by Chambers USA for Banking & Finance and Private Credit and has been recognized as Banking Law Firm of the Year by Chambers.

Paul Hastings’ strategic priority to build scale in sponsor and borrower-side finance is instrumental to the firm’s growing market share. More than 25 partners and 75 associates and of counsel from firms including Latham, Kirkland, Skadden, Cravath, Davis Polk and Simpson Thacher have joined its global private equity and M&A platforms over the last several years. This growth has propelled the firm’s M&A practice into the top 10 for U.S. and global exits ranked by value in Mergermarket’s H1 2025 league tables and the firm’s Chambers-ranked PE practice into the top 10 by deal count in Bloomberg’s 2024 global private equity league tables.

The firm continues to gain market share with a wide range of asset managers, including Apollo, Ares, Atlas, Blackstone, Brookfield, Carlyle, Charlesbank Capital Partners, EQT, Fortress, Francisco Partners, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Great Hill, H.I.G., KKR, Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, Sixth Street Partners, Symphony Technology Group and TPG.

Paul Hastings’ leading global M&A team has advised on approximately 400 transactions in the last two years, including Pactiv Evergreen Inc. in its $6.7 billion combination with Novolex, G42 in the $1.5 billion strategic investment by Microsoft and Heidrick & Struggles in a $1.3 billion definitive agreement with an investor consortium to become a private company. Over this span, the average deal size closed by the firm’s M&A practice has more than doubled to nearly $1 billion.
