Paul Hastings Continues Global Antitrust Build With Premier Partner in London

September 22, 2025

LONDON – In a move that further strengthens the firm’s antitrust platform in London, Brussels and globally, Paul Hastings LLP announced today the addition of Sally Evans as a partner.

Joining from Kirkland & Ellis, Evans advises clients on antitrust investigations, merger control, foreign investment screening and antitrust compliance matters, with a particular focus on transactional antitrust work. She brings a wealth of experience across antitrust matters in major global jurisdictions, with a concentration on U.K. merger control. She frequently represents clients before the U.K. Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and is dual-qualified in Brussels, where she also leads EU merger control cases.

“Sally has extraordinary experience and a stellar reputation in antitrust and will provide further momentum to our global antitrust practice,” said firm Chair Frank Lopez. “Such premier antitrust talent not only is integral to our strategic priority of building a global destination platform but also is essential and synergistic to winning and executing M&A mandates at the top of the market.”

Evans has a wide-ranging client base, spanning private equity firms, global investment funds and strategic buyers. She has advised on matters such as Thoma Bravo’s $12.3 billion agreement to take Dayforce private; Triton Partners’ acquisition of the Bosch security and communications technology product business; GIC’s long-term minority investment in Messer Group and Noble Corporation on its combination with Maersk Drilling, subject to a Phase I remedy agreed with the UK Competition and Markets Authority, involving the divestment of oil drilling platforms in the North Sea.

“I look forward to working with Paul Hastings’ impressive antitrust team,” said Evans. “There is real momentum to the firm’s expansion in the U.K. and other markets across Europe, the Middle East and North America, so this is a brilliant opportunity to be part of a growing practice and work with the firm’s extensive roster of leading clients and professionals.”

Ranked among the top lawyers in her field by Chambers UK and as a “Leading Lawyer” by The Legal 500, and previously as one of Global Competition Review’s “40 Under 40,” Evans has also developed a leading foreign direct investment (FDI) screening practice handling a large proportion of notifications under the U.K. National Security and Investment Act regime and the coordination of FDI filings across Europe and other FDI jurisdictions.

Evans is the latest in a series of strategic hires who have significantly bolstered Paul Hastings’ antitrust and competition offering globally, including Josh Soven, who joined the Washington D.C. office from Paul Weiss in July and Stephen McIntyre, who joined from O’Melveny in Los Angeles.
