Paul Hastings Further Enhances Premier Global Energy & Infrastructure Platform as It Continues to Build in Texas
June 11, 2025
HOUSTON – Paul Hastings LLP today announced the continued expansion of its market-leading global Energy and Infrastructure practice and Texas footprint with the addition of Christopher Richardson as a partner in Houston.
Richardson joins Paul Hastings with more than 20 years of experience in energy and infrastructure transactions and projects as a lawyer and business executive. He most recently served as CEO of 8 Rivers Capital and previously served as the head of the Energy & Infrastructure Project Development and Finance section for the Americas at White & Case, where he was a founding partner of that firm’s Houston office. In addition to his extensive experience in the Texas legal market, Richardson has also practiced in Asia and the Middle East, including in-house as general counsel of an international oil and gas company.
“We continue to expand the capabilities of our premier energy and infrastructure platform globally and in Texas with top-tier talent,” said firm Chair Frank Lopez. “Chris’ addition alongside our highly successful U.S. and international teams represents another strong boost to our practice as we deepen client relationships and increase market share across the E&I space.”
At Paul Hastings, Richardson’s practice will focus on strategic joint ventures, complex project development and financing, M&A, corporate matters and commercial contracts across the energy value chain, including oil and gas, energy transition, LNG, chemicals, power and infrastructure.
“I could not be more excited to be part of the phenomenal cross-border energy and infrastructure team here at Paul Hastings,” said Richardson. “The positive momentum is palpable, and I can’t wait to work with this extraordinarily talented team to provide our clients with the strategic advice and support they need to execute their most complex energy and infrastructure projects and transactions globally.”
Richardson’s arrival follows the addition of a transformative energy and infrastructure team in Abu Dhabi, London and Paris with partners Din Eshanov, George Kazakov, Xavier Petet, Ibaad Hakim, Stefan Mrozinski, Habeeb Rahman and Benoit Thirion.
Paul Hastings continues to attract premier talent and clients in Texas, where the firm has more than tripled its presence from 30 to nearly 100 lawyers over the last 18 months. The firm recently moved to a new space in Houston as it continues to build the office.
