Paul Hastings Strengthens Capital Markets Platform with Premier Partner

September 08, 2026

NEW YORK  In a move that further strengthens its premier global capital markets platform, Paul Hastings today announced the addition of elite capital markets partner Jean Park in New York and Silicon Valley.

Joining from Cooley, Park advises companies, investment banks and investors on a broad range of transactional and general corporate matters, including IPOs and other securities offerings, PIPE transactions, private financings, and mergers and acquisitions. She also counsels late-stage private companies and public companies on general corporate and securities law matters, with a particular focus on the technology and healthcare industries. Prior to Cooley, Park was a partner at Simpson Thacher.

“We have made it a strategic priority to build an elite global equity capital markets and public company platform over the last few years. Jean brings an elite skillset along with strong industry relationships and experience that will continue to build on our current capabilities for advising late-stage private companies, IPO candidates and public companies — particularly in the fintech, AI, digital health and other innovation-focused sectors — through every stage of their business cycle,” said firm Chair Frank Lopez. “Her arrival will help us continue to win more market share of U.S. IPOs and complex public company matters which is integral to achieving our broader goals.”

“Paul Hastings’ platform has incredible momentum across all of its major practices, and I am thrilled to be joining this platform that is unmatched in its ability to serve as a strategic advisor across the full capital structure for clients in all stages of growth,” said Park.

The firm’s Chambers-ranked Capital Markets practice is a recognized leader in market-moving IPOs and transformative capital markets transactions worldwide, advising issuers, investment banks, sponsors and public companies on many of the market’s largest and most sophisticated offerings. The group’s global platform combines deep industry and public company expertise with integrated advice spanning startup through IPO and beyond. Paul Hastings ranked no. 4 in the first half of 2026 for U.S. Equity IPOs — Manager Counsel by volume and ranked no. 5 in the first half of 2026 for U.S. Equity Offerings — Manager Counsel by deal count. The firm’s public company advisory and capital markets client roster also grew nearly 40%, from 85 to 118 public companies, in the past year and, in the past decade, lawyers across the practice have advised on more than 80 IPOs, including some of the largest U.S. IPOs of the past two years, such as SK Hynix’s $26.5 billion Nasdaq listing in July, the second largest IPO in U.S. history.

The addition of Park follows a series of strategic lateral hires and reunites her with former Cooley colleagues David Ambler and Winston Gu. Park’s arrival further builds out the firm’s ECVC practice following the additions of James Huie and Mike Pestana from Wilson Sonsini in San Francisco and lawyers from Goodwin Procter in Boston and New York, including partners Ian Engstrand and Seo Salimi
