Overview
Tyler R. Brown is an Atlanta-based partner in Paul Hastings’ Energy & Infrastructure practice.
Tyler has extensive experience advising clients on matters involving federal energy regulations and transactions in the energy sector. His client portfolio spans both traditional energy clients, including oil and natural gas companies, pipeline companies, LNG terminal owners, energy traders and investor-owned utilities, and emerging sector clients, such as data center developers. He advises clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Department of Energy and the Texas Railroad Commission. He also advises on transactions in the energy sector, providing regulatory advice with respect to mergers and acquisitions in the energy industry and drafting complex commercial contracts for clients across the energy industry. Tyler counsels clients on all aspects of building natural gas and liquids pipelines, including negotiating the commercial agreements underpinning the project, obtaining regulatory approval, acquiring right-of-way and putting the pipeline in service.
Tyler began his practice at a law firm in Washington, D.C., where he represented electric utilities, natural gas pipelines and oil pipelines before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He later served in a series of increasingly senior in-house counsel roles in a natural gas pipeline company, an international oil and gas company, and a private equity-backed oil pipeline business.
