Paul Hastings Adds Premier Tax Partner From Band 1 Practice in London

February 16, 2026

LONDON – Paul Hastings LLP announced today that Alicia Osei has joined as a tax partner in London, further strengthening the firm’s London and global tax platform and expanding its capabilities to guide clients through complex strategic M&A, private equity, funds and private capital investments, capital markets, structured credit and other transactions in the U.K. and internationally.

Osei is Paul Hastings’ fourth tax partner addition in the last three months, reflecting the firm’s strategic priority to build a preeminent tax practice in the U.K. and globally. She joins forces in London with fellow partners Jenny Doak from Weil and Catherine Richardson from Cadwalader, who arrived in December, and Andrew Davis, who joined last month in New York from Cravath.

The expansion comes during a period of robust growth for firm’s the London office, with revenue up more than 20 percent year-over-year and 100% over the last three years.

“Alicia’s arrival highlights our continued focus on and investment in expanding our premier tax capabilities in London and globally,” said firm Chair Frank Lopez. “Alicia will further strengthen our global tax platform and ability to meet growing client demand across funds, enabling us to highlight our intellectual capital with sophisticated and integrated tax advice on complex matters touching asset managers. It has been a great few years for the evolution of our London office, winning market share at the top of the market, but we are just getting started. We expect to continue our momentum in the London market and having a leading tax platform is instrumental to our goals.”

Joining from Macfarlanes, Osei brings nearly 15 years of experience advising clients across the full spectrum of tax and structuring matters in the private fund and capital industry, including fund formations, secondary transactions, continuation funds, executive carried interest and co-investment arrangements and the establishment and reorganization of investment management businesses. Her work regularly involves managing complex cross-border tax issues, including matters at the intersection of U.K. and U.S. tax.

Osei’s experience is highly synergistic with the firm’s strategic build of a leading global Investment Funds & Private Capital practice, which recently saw the additions of David Richardson (London), Catherine Gokah (London), Josh Cohen (Chicago) and Serge Todorovich (New York). The group represents some of the largest global asset managers, credit funds, registered funds complexes and real estate firms in the market, and has acted on prominent, market-leading matters, including Intermediate Capital Group in relation to launching the largest senior debt fund in the market at $17 billion and Pantheon in relation to its $10.1 billion private debt platform, the largest in Europe.

Osei’s client base spans large U.K. and pan-European investment managers, private equity and venture capital firms, special opportunities and credit fund asset managers, ultra-high-net-worth individuals and private families. Her recent representations include advising Hayfin Capital Management on its flagship fundraisings; assisting a major European investment manager with the design of global carried interest and co-investment arrangements; and on the launch of Polus Capital Management’s Polus Special Situations Fund and the raising of August Equity’s Fund VI.

“I am thrilled to join Paul Hastings during a period of substantial growth for the U.K. tax team, the London office and the firm more broadly,” said Osei. “I look forward to helping the firm sustain its impressive trajectory and collaborating with colleagues around the world to deliver innovative solutions for our clients’ most complex and strategic tax matters.”

Recognized by Chambers as a leading practice in the U.S. and Europe, the Paul Hastings global Tax Group guides clients through the tax and structuring issues that arise across the full spectrum of complex transactions the firm advises on, including M&A, private-equity-backed acquisitions and dispositions, as well as all areas of investment funds, asset management and finance, including structured and leveraged finance and alternative lending, capital markets, real estate and real estate funds transactions, and all aspects of restructurings.
