July 14, 2025
NEW YORK – Paul Hastings LLP announced today that leading finance attorneys Corey Wright and Lisa Collier have joined as partners in New York, further strengthening the firm’s market-leading Global Finance platform.
Joining from Latham & Watkins LLP, Wright—widely known in the banking sector as one of the leading finance attorneys in the world and Band 1-ranked by Chambers USA—and Collier further strengthen Paul Hastings’ top-ranked practice for Banking & Finance. They represent banks and other financial institutions in a broad range of complex leveraged finance transactions, including high-yield bond and bank sides of financings and refinancings, debt and equity offerings, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, bridge lending and loan commitments, secured and unsecured lending transactions, asset-based lending transactions, acquisition financings and other bank loan financings. Prior to Latham, the pair previously practiced together at Cahill Gordon & Reindel LLP.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Corey and Lisa,” said firm Chair Frank Lopez. “Their longstanding relationships serving top-tier financial institutions are highly synergistic with many of our core practices. Corey’s reputation is stellar as one of a handful, if not the leading, finance practitioner of his generation. Corey and Lisa’s arrival will further elevate our position as the go-to firm for complex, high-stakes financings and create significant opportunities to gain even more market share at the top of the market.”
Jointly, Wright and Collier have advised investment institutions, direct lenders and leading domestic financial institutions such as Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley.
Most recently, Wright and Collier served as co-counsel in connection with the just-completed tender offer and consent solicitation for the outstanding debt securities and certain subsidiaries’ debt securities related to the Warner Bros. Discovery, Inc separation, as well as counsel to the lead bookrunner and administrative agent for the $17.5 billion leveraged bridge loan agreement.
Their additional recent high-profile financings include a $4 billion high-yield loan representing the initial purchasers for Rocket Companies, Inc. in connection with its pending acquisition of Mr. Cooper; representing the lenders on Databricks’ $5.25 billion credit facilities; advising the lead arrangers and administrative agent in the financing of OpenAI’s $4 billion credit facility; representing the initial purchasers in a $1.2 billion senior secured notes offering by Restaurant Brands International Inc.; advising the initial purchasers in a private offering by Aramark of €400 million aggregate principal amount of senior unsecured notes and the underwriters in the secondary offering of its common stock; and the lenders in the $15.5 billion sale of Truist Financial Corporation’s remaining stake in Truist Insurance Holdings.
“We’re excited to join a practice of this caliber and to reunite with several former colleagues,” said Wright. “Paul Hastings has built a dominant position in various financings and direct lending, and we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to be part of a firm delivering high-impact, market-shaping work for clients across the capital spectrum. I am particularly pleased to be able to continue collaborating with Lisa, who has been instrumental to building my practice.”
“The firm’s impressive trajectory has been impossible to ignore. We look forward to working with our new colleagues—including some familiar faces—and helping to author the next chapter of Paul Hastings’ success story as it further expands its premier global finance presence,” added Collier.
Chambers USA, The Legal 500 U.S. and IFLR1000 have regularly recognized Wright as an industry leader. Collier has been recognized by ABF Journal as a Top Woman in Specialty Finance and singled out by The Secured Lender within its Women in Secured Finance publication. In joining Paul Hastings’ global finance practice, the pair further enhances one of the world’s leading legal advisers for leveraged finance and private credit.
