Paul Hastings Adds Top-Ranked Infrastructure and Energy Partners in London

February 01, 2023

London – Paul Hastings LLP, a global law firm advising the world’s leading financial institutions, asset managers and Fortune 500 corporations, announced today that premier infrastructure and energy lawyers Jessamy Gallagher and Stuart Rowson have joined the firm as partners in London.

Top-ranked by Chambers UK in Infrastructure and Projects, Gallagher and Rowson will further advance Paul Hastings’ position among the world’s premier firms in energy transition and infrastructure with a global team across the United States, Europe, and Latin America. Their practice focuses on funds and financial sponsors investing in both regulated and unregulated asset classes across the infrastructure market, including energy transition and digital infrastructure assets.

The addition of Gallagher and Rowson reflects continued investment in the firm’s global infrastructure and energy capabilities, bringing together Band 1 talent in London and the high-profile, Band 1 team led by partners Robert Freedman and Gregory Tan that joined Paul Hastings in New York last year.

“Jessamy and Stuart continue our momentum as a destination for elite and market-leading talent,” said Paul Hastings Chair Frank Lopez. “This added strength to our global M&A and project finance teams enables us to continue to grow our market share with the most sophisticated infrastructure funds and sponsors,” he added.

Gallagher’s practice focuses on M&A transactions in the infrastructure and energy sector, advising a wide range of global pension, infrastructure and fund managers, as well as FTSE-listed clients. She is ranked Band 1 by Chambers UK in Infrastructure UK-wide and is recognized in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame: Corporate M&A. She is the former co-head of Linklaters’ Infrastructure sector and co-founder of the Funds and Financial Investors Group.

With a background in project finance, Rowson focuses on financings in the infrastructure and energy sector. He is the former co-head of Linklaters’ infrastructure sector and co-founder of the Funds and Financial Investors Group. Rowson is ranked by Chambers UK in Infrastructure and Projects and is recognized in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame for Projects/Project Finance.

“Paul Hastings is a leader in infrastructure and energy. We are eager to build on recent investments in the practice and add to strength in London and across the firm’s global platform with complementary M&A, finance, and financial sponsor practices,” said Gallagher.

“The upward trajectory for Paul Hastings is palpable. We look forward to joining the firm and collaborating across practices to continue the firm’s impressive momentum,” added Rowson.

While Gallagher and Rowson are the first two London partner additions in 2023, Paul Hastings grew the London office with 10 lateral partners in 2022, including a Band 1 global finance team and leading high-yield partner Patrick Bright. Globally, the firm added more than 40 partners in 2022 across a dozen practices, including finance, M&A, private equity, structured credit, securities and capital markets, IP litigation, and leveraged finance.
