Overview

Marissa Maxim is an associate in the Energy & Infrastructure group in the Houston office. She represents clients in complex domestic and international commercial transactions and projects, including project and infrastructure construction, development and finance, joint ventures and commodities trading transactions for upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas. Prior to joining Paul Hastings, Marissa worked for another leading global law firm in Houston. Marissa received her law degree from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2023, where she graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif and served on the Texas A&M Law Review.

  • Avantus, a portfolio company of KKR, in the ongoing development, construction, financing (including construction and tax equity) and divestitures of their solar projects throughout California, Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah and Texas.*
  • An international energy company on its offtake, joint venture arrangements and equity investment in Rio Grande LNG.*
  • Lake Charles LNG on all project and commercial aspects of its proposed LNG export project, including the landmark 2 mtpa LNG sales agreement with Chevron and GHG reporting provisions.*
  • Chevron regarding a major gas monetization project in Equatorial Guinea involving the negotiation of Gas Processing and LNG Tolling Agreements, LNG marketing arrangements, agreements with the Government of Equatorial Guinea, and upstream agreements covering the development and transportation of gas to the Gas Processing and LNG Plants.*
  • Pembina Pipeline in the negotiation of long-term time charters for new-build LPG carriers to support marine transportation of propane from its Prince Rupert export terminal in British Columbia.*
  • Vale S.A. in connection with its acquisition of shares in Anglo American Minério de Ferro Brasil S.A., including the contribution of mining assets and infrastructure development for high-grade iron ore transportation via a new rail line.*
  • Corporación Andina de Fomento, a multilateral development bank, on a $220,000,000 A/B loan facility to support climate-related infrastructure investments in Minas Gerais, Brazil.*
