The new FCC regulations go into effect on October 16, 2013 for telemarketing calls. Are you ready? This panel, of regulators and attorneys from the defense and plaintiffs’ bar, will provide an overview of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), as well as the new regulations. And because TCPA is also a hot area for consumer class actions, the panel will also discuss significant TCPA decisions and settlements. Finally the panel will review the FTC’s Telemarketing Sales Rule (TSR) and Do-Not-Call jurisdiction and explain the jurisdictional differences between the FTC and FCC with regard to regarding robocalls.
