Our Lives Online: US vs EU

Thursday, September 17, 2015 - Friday, September 18, 2015

12:00 AM GMT - 12:00 AM GMT

This event will discuss how the EU and the US compare when it comes to balancing the need for security with privacy rights. Speakers will also cover how much information Europeans and Americans give up every time they go online.

Paul Hastings Special Advisor Paul Schwartz is moderating a panel discussion, “Our Lives Online: US vs. EU,” which World Affairs is hosting in a collaboration with Berkeley’s EU Center. The panel discussion on online privacy will include Giovanni Buttarelli, the European Data Protection Supervisor, and Cindy Cohn, Executive Director at the Electronic Frontier Foundation.
