Stepping Up, Coming Out, and Staying Ahead

Thursday, November 12, 2015 - Thursday, November 12, 2015
10:30 am New York - 12:30 pm New York

Research continues to show the benefits of having an inclusive workplace. Yet, while progress has been made, many in the LGBT community still worry that revealing their sexuality at work will have negative consequences.

Join us for a special luncheon where leaders across industries will share their personal stories about how coming out in an accepting workplace enabled them to achieve both professional success and personal satisfaction. The event will begin with an overview of recent research presented by Brad Sears, Executive Director of the Williams Institute and Assistant Dean at UCLA Law School; and Ilan Meyer and Bianca Wilson, Senior Scholars for Public Policy at the Williams Institute. This will be followed by compelling stories that chronicle the roads to success, with some challenges along the way, for LGBT leaders:

  • Gwen Marcus, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Showtime Networks Inc.

  • Matt Walding, Senior Director, Tishman Speyer

  • Wells Fargo Executive – Details Coming Soon

Following the candid remarks, the leaders will join guests at their tables for more intimate conversations and networking.

This lunch is being hosted by Paul Hastings in partnership with the Williams Institute to further cultivate the innovative atmosphere that having a diverse workforce engenders
